This is a test post because I had to resubmit my info on my iPod

Yesterday Robyn, Jarret and I drove to Lake City, FL to meet (half-way) with my father and his wife for a visit while they were in town. They were actually visiting Orlando area, so we met the half way to help us all save gas. We got there a bit later than we anticipated due to stopping, something we do more of now with Jarret along for the ride. When we arrived my father was already there waiting (patiently taking a walk) for us.

We decided to stay in a hotel for the night to make the travel more bearable and so Jarret would have more time to visit with his grandparents for his and their first time. We spent a lot of time taking pictures and talking and eventually eating and talking…..

It was a fun trip and Jarret’s first rode trip for pleasure (he’s taking longer drives, but only because we were moving). He handled it very well. He didn’t fuss much on the way there or on the way back. He slept pretty easy while on the road, but did have some trouble sleeping at the hotel. I think it was because our room was facing the highway and there was a lot of noise. Although Robyn and I more more accustomed to sleeping with such noise, it was his first time. He didn’t fuss much, he just didn’t want stay asleep. He otherwise really enjoyed the trip.

The hotel that we stayed at was the Cabot Lodge in Lake City. It was a really nice place. After we had dinner with my father they hotel had a evening social hour with free snacks, beer and wine (well, included as part of your stay) We talked with some French/Canadians there who just loved Jarret. In the morning they had a hot breakfast consisting of waffles, scrambled eggs (and I got the impression they would have made me eggs my way if I had asked) freshly cooked sausage and biscuits and gravy. They also had orange juice, apple juice, cereal and milk available. If ever we make the trip again, we’ll be staying there again.

Here are some photos from our trip. Jarret did a lot of giggling and laughing and talking. He enjoyed the social time as well. We hope to make more road trips with him like this in the future.

We all moved again. We are now living back in Pensacola. If you have me on Facebook and are a member of my family (or a close friend) then you will see my new address should you want to send anything. I do ask that you update.

The new house is awesome. It’s a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom. Robyn and I have the master which is rather nice with a dual sink and walk in closet etc.. Jarret also has his own room, which I just finished putting together today.

We also have a nice yard and a pool. If you come visit, we shall have to swim.

Sorry for the short post but I wanted to update everybody.

Today I had my doctors appointment where I got all of my test results back from a previous doctor visit. All my results were normal and healthy. Robyn seems a bit on the jealous side about things considering her results weren’t so great. While I was there my doctor also checked my testicles for lumps. Robyn and I couldn’t help joking about it. Afterwards I talked to the doctor about having an allergy panel done on me so I would know what things (Food and Environmental) I’m allergic to from the South East. I will have test results called into me. Also, I got a list of psychiatrists local who take my medical so that I can get prescribed something for ADHD.

It’s been a while since I’ve been on Adderall XR. Since I moved to Florida I haven’t had medical insurance until just recently. I did have a ‘stash’ saved from Renton because I didn’t take it all the time.

Well, today we had our 3 month visit for Jarret. A few questions were asked and clearly answered for us. They started us off with a different doctor/NP than who we normally see, so we asked to see our regular, and they did oblige us. This change took longer than I personally like, but what can you say when you make changes at the last minute, you can’t be picky about the time it takes.

Todays visit questions:

Is Jarret sick? His temperament has changed (says mother and grandmother), he is coughing profusely, he is overall more cranky and is sleeping more sporadically. Now, I know that the sleep change could be normal and probably is. As they get older they sleep less. but the coughing and everything else was a bit concerning to us all. Doctor/NP checked lungs (twice) ears, throat and concluded that nothing seems unusual.

A certain shot, should it be given? The answer was told that it was primarily for premature babies and wouldn’t be or isn’t typically covered by insurance unless they are premature.

Why is he still gassy and fussy from it? Any solutions? She did explain that changing formula may help, but may not as well. Some babies are just fussy and gassy. She did mention that intolerance could be the issue and that trying (she mentioned a few formulas we already tried with no success) trying different formula may help. If it’s lactose intolerance then she suggested trying Soy based formula. Robyn isn’t too keen with that idea unfortunately.

Is he well enough to get his shots today? In a nut shell, yes but up to us if we want to. We decided fairly quickly to go ahead and he had 3 shots and a drink of something.

All and all it was a stressful day. Jarret was overall fussy but he did sleep after getting his shots, so there was some relief.

Robyn and I (but mostly Robyn) spent all night awake and all morning cooking. Robyn and I were planning to go visit Duane, Heather, Nicole and others for thanksgiving in Clairmonte and had agreed to bring the meal (minus the desserts. Robyn, having never really done a thanksgiving meal, was both stressed and excited at the opportunity to provide this meal for everybody, but her mother wasn’t coming with us to visit so Robyn made not one but two thanksgiving meals.

When all was done and ready I loaded everything into the van and we made our way to Clairmonte. When we arrived, Duane’s parents, Duane and Nicole were already there. Upon enquiry we discovered that Heather would be there soon as well with her boyfriend, Jay, in tow. They arrived not to long after.

Everybody enjoyed playing with Jarret. I let him watch in Duane’s kitchen while we all cooked, and both Heather and Jay took the opportunity to hold him. I got a few pictures of that, but Jarret had started screaming when I snapped the picture.

Duane’s parents and I talked about living and different parts of the country and the weather, very macabre topics. We, Robyn and I and occasionally Heather, took turns watching Jarret while we smoked.

When the last of the meal and desserts were ready the moved Duane’s dinning table and chairs to the middle of the living room so we would all fit around it. We put Jarret to rest on a blanket on the floor and enjoyed the meal together.

Afterwards we drove home and went to sleep.

Well, loving and using our new place (which includes a very nice pool, 24,000 Gal (36’x14x8’)) and now the sun is getting hotter and the pool is nice an clean, at least before we got in, so of course, have to put it to use. We have family member visiting so we had to make full use of the pool and house.

Now we’re planning a day trip for the beach…maybe a romantic picnic or just a fun time with family.

Now, it’s time to catch up on some Sunday videos on the internet.

Today being my birthday, things should be interesting…as they usually are.

Robyn took me out to eat and to a movie. We ate at Yangtze Buffet near our home. Afterwards we went to the Rave to watch Insidious.

Insidious was a decent horror flick, they could have made it last a bit longer but that’s ok, it was still good. One annoying feature of the film was the very beginning and very end where they flashed the name of the movie and played a sound/tone that resembled a siren. Overall, I’d say go an see it.

Also, for my birthday a pre-order for Portal 2 which comes out on April 19, when I’ll begin playing.

After several weeks and several doctor visits, a little anxiety and paranoia, today we finally got to speak to a specialist (high risk) today who had a much better Ultrasound equipment. We spent nearly an hour alone just in the Ultrasound room checking everything. We got several great photos and some great news…IT’S A BOY!

We’ve already chosen a name, Jarret Robby Roundy, for him…and now we just have to fill a room with boy things (or at least gender neutral things). Soon we’ll have a gift registry (for those who aren’t close or who cannot make it) and next we’ll plan a baby shower.

Today was a very exciting day for everybody. There has been a few moments where we thought we may lose again…but now that is (mostly) behind us.

Today (3/29/2011) Robyn is 16 weeks…due date is September 13, 2011.

So went to Dr. LaRose’s Office today for routine stuff and finally got a decent ultrasound photo.
